It really is quite spectacular. It’s like these people think all the people who had been voting Democratic for generations just left the South after the South became Republican nationally. What a lot of people don’t know though is the roots in the deep South especially leaving the Democratic party go beyond LBJ but more closer to 1948 with Truman when he desegregated the military.

i’ve had wingnuts go so far as to tell me that lbj reluctantly signed the civil rights and voting acts!
