Exactly. My brother-in-law is about my age and the classic example of a good old boy from Kentucky. He will talk your ears off about his former neighbors, who are Bosnian, and their wonderful coffee, their delicious cooking, and their warmth in inviting him and my sis-in-law to dinner many times. If anyone disrespected Bosnians, or even Muslims, I suspect my bro-in-law would probably deck him.

He has a great deal of respect for people who had to flee their homes as refugees, too. Their neighborhood was very mixed, with refugees from all over the world trying to make a go of it in the USA.

Your brother in law sounds like a great guy. That’s the kind of attitude that makes our country great. I’m remembering my childhood cul-de-sac now, we had a few Christian families including one Mormon, one Jewish family, one family where the father was Indian-American, and another where the couple and their sons were from Venezuela I believe.
