I have heard little mention of Trump’s statement “I’ll be with you!” when he exhorted the protestors to march on the Capitol.

There is no justification for him to make such a statement at that time and place, or in his capacity as President

Period.

I will accept to excuses (“Secret Service would never allow it”) or rationalizations (“He would be with them in spirit if not in person!”). Those were some of the most awful, mendacious, inflammatory and cowardly words to ever come out his mouth, and that is saying A LOT.
