my opinion is that bridgegate sealed the fate of the gop as a minority party that will never have a president in the foreseeable future, since it took out the last person who could bridge the gap between sane republicans and trash-talk addicts

One does wonder when literal snake handling will make it to the floor of a GOP national convention, or when nuts who speak/write in tongues will be given the job of drafting the party platform.
