I can’t disagree with that. I think Kasich’s hot showing in NH is flash in the pan. He did his best in two groups that are not heavily represented in GOP primary voters- self described moderates and people with post college educations. Rubio had a shot but his bad showing in NH I think really hurt him big time. Had he and not Kasich finished in second, it might be another story. I was reading on Nate’s website that he had what he called a 3-2-1 plan which was to finish third in Iowa, (check), second in New Hampshire (nope not even third or fourth), and then win in South Caorlina Tuesday which I think is extremely unlikely.

Rubio was the establishment’s Big White(-ish) Hope, their golden boy who could be their Obama in being a well-spoken young face who could rally the party’s moderates and peel off some wingnuts from Cruz and Trump. But Christie pretty effectively kneecapped him in NH by showing he’s just been trained to bark on command. He’s trying to reinvent himself as something other than a human tape recorder, but I don’t think he’s gonna have any success, at least not before Super Tuesday.
