LOL so many snowflakes crying about Depeche Mode “suddenly turning political” with their new song

Depeche Mode - Where’s the Revolution (Audio)

I’ll have to copy-and-paste what my buddy said (who is the BIGGEST Depeche Mode I know of) to drop the gauntlet on clueless DM fans who don’t know anything:

My boys in black catching some flack from SOME people for “suddenly” being political.
a)DM has ALWAYS been political since Martin took over in 1982. The entire “Construction Time Again” album is a social-political statement. Much of “A Broken Frame” is. “New Dress” is about political manipulation of the media, “Master and Servant”, “People are People”…..on and on
b)This song was recorded, finished, and publicly previewed in October. Well before the election. It just so happened that it panned out the way Martin predicted.
c) It may seem overt to some because instead of hiding the meaning of his lyrics in metaphor and grey area interpretation, he chose a straight forward, no mistake, “this is my stance” approach.
People being bothered by this pretty much means they arent smart enough to read between the lines, or havent really been paying attention to Martins lyrics over the last 30 years….like…at all.
