I do not have the expensive Garmin watch that tells me the temperature during my run but SmashRun tells me it was 87 at the start of my run today. And the temp at the local weather station is typically 1-3 degrees hotter than what they pull from.

Plus the sun! Ugh.

At least it made me feel better about feeling like death through the whole thing. Much easier to blame the temperature and possibly the slight hangover.

I finally broke down and got myself a Garmin cyclocomputer. I’d been using a separate HRM, a cyclocomputer that did cadence as well as speed/distance, and a Strava app on my iPhone. I didn’t even realize the Garmin did temperature till I saw it in the uploaded data online.

Mind you, the ‘temperature’ is what temp IT is, so it takes at least a mile to cool down to ambient if it’s been in a hot car.
