re: #295 William Barnett-Lewis

Hey, DF, had a laugh earlier today. Twas a silly bit about what president would be the best knifefighter (roll-eyes) but SFV made a crack about Nixon and backstabbing. I instantly thought of your D&D project and “Tricky Dick, 15th level Thief” flashed through my mind :D

It’s actually a very easy question to answer;

Best President overall as a knife-fighter: Andrew Jackson. Brutal, aggressive, and possessed of a strong killer instinct, Andrew Jackson was just plain deadly. Very few would want to face him in a knife fight, as he had speed and strength and had a good knife with him where ever he went.

2nd Best and best of all 20th Century Presidents as a bladesman: Teddy Roosevelt. A better natured fellow than Jackson, but still strong, smart, utterly resolute, and very skilled with a blade. TR had dealt with knifemen when he was a rancher, and later as head of the NYPD. Another guy you seriously would not want to mess with at close quarters.
