Oh yeah, a pinch of cumin doesn’t hurt. I cooked many versions of Black Bean soup over the years. You know what really gives it a good flavor? Saut all veggies(onions, garlic, peppers - if you want them) first and deglaze your pot with some brandy. Then throw in the cooked chorizo, lime juice and stock & beans. Then stew.
