Without knowing more about this story, the thing is, some… many (?)… of these people fled countries where they were wrongly accused. We grant asylum to people like this. Trumped up charges, etc. See Cuba and our Wet Foot, Dry Foot policy which I think is fine, but it only applies to Cubans and no other refugees which I think unfair.

If a law is unfair, then perhaps it should be changed.

But while it’s the law, it’s, well, the law.
I’m not sure Governors and others should be picking and choosing which laws they want to follow and which ones they don’t.
