My main issue with the rebooted movie franchise is the lack of introspection and social commentary found in the TV series. Each one has been yet another Hollywood blockbuster with the valiant crew of the USS Enterprise saving the Federation and Earth from near annihilation, with the ship taking a real beating in the process.

I dunno, maybe things would be different in the 24th century, but if I were in charge, I’d think twice about giving a young captain with five year’s experience, who lost an entire starship and several hundred crew, a commendation and a new ship to command.

I loathed the slap-stick humor of the first reboot. Made me think of Jar Jar Binks and the Star Wars reboots prequels unfortunately.

Haven’t bother to watch Into Darkness or the new one.
