I read all the L’Amour books and most of the King books as a kid. Zane Grey as well. Got hooked on the western romance and individualism and adored King’s 60’s Rock n’ Roll and kid/social structure. While entertaining I wouldn’t put Gray or L’Amour in Kings class. SK was(not sure if he still is haven’t read one since Tommyknockers) a GREAT writer.
