Not to mention that Rio can easily build an Olympic Village by just hacking out a few square miles of rain forest, while Chicago has much less available land.

Rio is a beautiful city, but not all that safe. I don’t remember what it’s like, weather-wise, in winter, but I assume that’s when the Olympics will take place (July or so).
