That’s the big point, it wasn’t just clothes they had, it wasn’t just gear with Trump’s name on it, it was Trump 2020 gear.

Why shouldn’t they? The military isn’t supposed to be political. If there were Hope and Change signs at an Obama-military event, there would have been cries that OBAMA IS TRYING TO USE THE MILITARY AS HIS OWN PERSONAL GUARD. So yeah absolutely they should. What has made our military work for so long is that it’s apolitical. And those military men and women who wore Trump gear definitely violated that spirit.
