These guys were stupid (yeah I know) to try to get the records. As long as the records were sealed, they could have smeared Mike Brown to their heart’s content.

Which means they either didn’t expect to win or they actually believed their sources.

They’re either craven or stupid (both, actually) and I’m not sure which possibility is worse.
