He may have no idea how science works, but science funding is a very different subject. Having worked as a researcher at one of the National Laboratories, I can attest that science funding is very political and in my opinion often very misguided.

I almost used the work fact instead of opinion because of numerous “scientific” decisions that were clearly political ….. Yuka Mtn. WIPP. INL/PIT9 a whole bunch of shit at Hanford ….. and that is just from personal experience. DOE, the stewards of our National Laboratory system is a cluster fuck.

I have a brother who has worked at a national lab for 20 years, so I know you know what you’re talking about, and that Ted wants to take every advantage of that he can.
