Given the variety of acts done by Americans through history, ‘un-American’ is an imprecise term. But that’s a quibble, compared to the overall message of the speech.

“These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views — but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American. Drowning out the facts is how we failed at this task for decades.” (Pelosi and Hoyer August 10 USA Today op-ed.)

Maybe Mr. Bloomberg can take some advice from Pelosi and Hoyer.
