I admire American virtues of self-reliance and personal responsibility, but we cannot expect individuals and families with limited resources to negotiate on equal terms with multi-billion dollar international corporations for terms of employment, insurance or financial services.

As I’ve said before, I have no problem with private-sector unions unless the specific union in question loses sight of reality and/or starts acting like a bunch of assholes. Corporations can earn my ire in the same way.
