I don’t even know what that means. It sounds like he’s describing a portion of his memory being removed. What does it mean to forget someone is black?

Any context in what he was trying to get across? Was it just one of those mentally garbled moments?

It’s really hard to see that in a way that isn’t really insulting. I think folks are giving him too much of a pass upthread. Forgot he was black, meaning that he can’t imagine a black man giving a speech? A black man in a position of authority? It’s way past Harry Reid, who at the end of the day really was just commenting on the color of they guy’s skin. This was - “I’m surprised a black man could be speaking that well”
