I wanted to share this earlier. I’m still watching the TVTropes conversation from earlier. However, someone from Toronto had an interesting comment and story:

The bolded is a major inversion of the stereotype spread by Geller and others. Apparently, this story caused waves locally.

Part of the Geller problem is that they tend to assume that any family homicide involving Muslims is ‘an honor killing’. I’ve seen them attach it to things like ‘Father kills wife, kids, self, after home is foreclosed on’. That’s a family annhilator, not an honor killing, and you see it in families across the religious and ethnic board.
