This illustrates my conviction that to liberals “the rules are whatever the fuck we decide that they are, whenever we feel like it”.
The other thing that it illustrates is that predictability is one of the essential ingredients in a societal structure. The members have to have a reasonable expectation that the rules are defined and free from capricious and malicious changes.
The Democrats, by pushing this, are taking a huge chunk out of the foundations of our society. But then again, I find that liberals do this quite regularly, arrogantly and unwisely substituting their perceived enlightened ideas to undermine and replace institutions that have been developed over centuries through the collective wisdom of experience.
