I don’t give a damn about Zimmerman’s injuries. They were self-defense by Trayvon Martin against an asshole who had jumped him with a gun.

Or Trayvon did double back and jump him. That’s possible too. We don’t know the facts of the actual confrontation.

That it happened at all, and that there was a gun involved, is entirely on Zimmerman.
