Sorry DF but they are at least the same, if not worse, as their companions from the deep south. Not to mention knowing that there are even worse PD’s down there according to the people I know in greater STL.

The police remain the problem in America’s cities and the increasing militarization of the police has caused nothing but evil. There needs to be a mechanism where out of control PD’s can be federalized and every current member fired, instantly, to be replaced over time with properly selected, psychologically tested & fully trained individuals with no access to a SWAT team. No suburban PD needs an MRAP. No officer should have an AR in his vehicle. None.

MRAPs are cheaper than SWAT vans, because they’re surplus. And yes, Will, there are places where cops need an AR-15 in their squad cars. And I’m sad to say that some of those places are in Chicago.

So my comment was addressing another post in the context of an discussion about what sort of weapons police needed access to.
