Anywhere where there’s conflict there are gonna be strong emotions from people on the ground or people who have loved ones there. I know I’ve gone ballistic than once over 9/11. Having been in the area when it happened makes it…different.

Yeah, that’s actually part of why I grew more silently respective. When I took Irish history in Galway, my professor was a native of the poor and Catholic section of Belfast. I’m sure he had his feelings on the Troubles but he was professional. He even gave us an essay to read that was a different perspective on Cromwell than the usual Irish Catholic one because he wanted us to look at all perspectives. I figure if someone like that can be professional, there’s no reason I shouldn’t be especially about an issue that doesn’t effect any of my relations and if it does, they’re very distant ones.
