I shouldn’t get into it again, but the problem comes when people not liking the things he’s said re: Israel/Palestine seems to lead to enormous levels of hate and a negation of all the good things he’s done in the last 30 years.
That’s problematic at best.
Look:
The Habitat for Humanity project and the work they do in various communities is wonderful, just wonderful, and I know he’s heavily involved in that, in fact, his involvement sort of promoted it and that’s a good thing.
But he was a terrible President; he’s been a terrible ex-President, often poking his nose where it doesn’t belong; and I cannot think well of anyone who is as anti-Israel as Carter is.
