I would think that one of the first requirements for being selected as a delegate would be the ability to afford to pay for your trip to the convention, including meals, lodging, and transportation. I read at TPM that the RNC has this requirement. Do you know if the DNC has a similar policy?
Well, Iām not sure about that. That would mean only the rich could be delegates.
My own almost-moribund county Democratic party wanted me to be a delegate to the state party convention. I could not afford it.
I have been getting E-mails from the Democratic Party about paying for delegates hotels and airfare to the convention in Philadelphia. (I believe the party is paying for it, but I am unsure)
