One thing I note is how much Egypt’s population has grown, in parallel with decreasing oil production there to the point that Egypt now is a net importer. Combine that with Egypt now needing to import something like 40-50% of its food, and the average person is going to see their life impinged upon by creeping prices for food and misc. goods.
IMO this transcends Islamic group this or that. Whatever happens in Egypt over the next few days leading to whomever gaining power, it will not erase a very big problem facing that country - an exploding population without the increase in resources.
