While Johnson did say that, that doesn’t impeach his testimony, he would be wrong on this one point and it’s not at all hard to see how he could make that mistake. There is no such thing as a perfect testimony. In fact, testimonies are notoriously unreliable when it comes to details. But the totality of them could paint a more or less accurate picture.
Tom Nichols’s thinking on this issue is just primitive.
