I don’t know if what you say about more than half the country being open to radical socialist experimentation is true. Obama did not campaign as the radical socialist he seems to be governing as, instead he campaigned as a centrist. I recall several of his speeches where he sounded positively Reaganesque. I’m seeing some people who voted for him saying they would not have voted for him had they known what he was really going to be like. It’s one reason his poll numbers are dropping like they are as more and more of the radical socialist behind the moderate mask starts to reveal himself.

There’s no question there’s a lot people who are open to radical socialist experimentation, though. And unfortunately, they are in charge with no one to restrain them. I figure the 2010 mid term election will be our first indication if the majority of the people are indeed open to radical socialist experiments, I suppose.
