The guy who never gets sufficient credit for that album is Todd Rundgren.

He produced and arranged it, assembled the band, played guitar on it, and got a label to put the record out after every major label had turned it down. And he pretty much financed the entire project.

If not for TR, we’d never have even heard Bat Out Of Hell. The album wore out its welcome with me years ago, but it’s still a hell of a record.

Some kid took mine when he left home. Kids moving out is like having your will executed early.
