They’ve been making claims like that since the early 80’s when I first had to deal with them and learned what a far superior design the M240 was.

The basic design is inherently flawed as it was based on a total misunderstanding of the FG-42 (the gas system, bolt & trigger are lifted from it) and the MG-42 (the belt feed is lifted from it). The misunderstanding of how the FG-42 bolt worked in full-auto mode was especially a major problem. Combine this with the badly designed quick change barrels and the various multitude of problems that have taken them 50 years to fix and you have a system that should have simply been scrapped decades ago by all users.
