Absolutely. This quite honestly is one of the most disturbing executive branch scandals I’ve ever seen. It’s worse than Watergate IMO. It would be if CREEP had gotten South Vietnam to investigate McGovern in exchange for military aid during Vietnam. As scummy as Nixon was, even he wouldn’t have done that IMO.

But to win in 1968, Nixon interfered with Johnson’s peace process. True, it may have gone nowhere, but it could have succeeded - sparing 10’s of thousands of American and Vietnamese lives, and possibly preventing the ascension of Pol Pot in Cambodia, thereby sparing a million lives.
