It’s the far-right mirror to all those on the far-left running around, insisting that COVID-19 swamping hospitals and killing people left and right is somehow “proof” that universal healthcare is needed immediately because everybody would be safe.

Uh, universal health care is needed immediately. I understand that because America is pretty uniquely fucked up you’re not going to get it, but that doesn’t mean you don’t need it.

Of course universal health care won’t stop people dying, although I’d contend it would help, but even if it doesn’t what it would do is make sure that people aren’t financially ruined by getting ill.
