Just went through that in my family. My Dad finally died at 90 from Alzheimer’s dementia related complications. But the fact is we all felt like we’d pretty much lost him 4 years earlier when he became unable to communicate…it’s tough to watch and elicits all sorts of mixed feelings.

I whipped my dad’s ass in cribbage one evening…he got up to go rest and died the next day….profound heartbreak, almost debilitating for me…I could hardly breath for a month
