re: #311 Dark_Falcon
OK, so we’re talking about women, the Crimea, and guns. I’ve got the perfect photo (created to Thomas Peters of Reuters):
The soldier on the left has the ubiquitous AKMS folding stock 7.62x39mm assault rifle, the soldier in the center holds an AK-74M 5.45x39mm assault rifle, while the man on the right has the 9x39mm AS Val integrally suppressed assault rifle.
I came in late and was going to leave it alone, but you gave me the opening to comment on that woman with a gun vs Rosa Parks graphic.

It’s a cynical attempt to co-opt the Civil Rights movement.
re: #226 HappyWarrior
But no one is saying that women shouldn’t be allowed to arm themselves. That’s strawman bullshit and you and I both know it. ….
My point is a combination of these two. You should recognize an offensively false analogy when you see one. To compare Rosa Parks’s ‘need’ to ride on the front of the bus, when she was legal banned from there because of her race and arrested for asserting a right that contradicted local law, with a woman who is not being treated differently under the law than anyone else is a total fail.
