Slogging through Carrier’s Proving History. He tries to write in a style that is not too erudite, but in doing so I think he ends up being much more wordy than he needs to be.

Still, worth reading, and a prerequisite I believe for his larger work (of which I’m still only halfway through) on the historicity of Jesus.
