Good and bad do tend to go together. Unfortunately, it is well established that slavery and the slave trade were widely excused on the grounds that it brought Christianity to the heathens. The linkage between Christianity and the Middle Passage has not been forgotten in many corners of Africa.

And let’s remember that the “good and good” also go together, meaning religious groups who’s only mission is to feed and shelter people who can’t. And I think we were talking about the current situation in Africa, not ancient history.
