I am already pondering how they will spin his secessionist utterances. Prabably on the lines of “What he meant was that he loved American values so much that he wanted Texas to secede in order to maintain them in their pure form, as the rest of the country had lost sight of them…and he will be the one to bring them back to tthe entire nation”.

Trust me, if he can establish himself as the front runner, NOBODY within the party will dare come out against him, and any attempts outside the party to point out his obvious contraditions will get drowned out in a stampete of longhorned foghorn leghonery.
