re: #20 Interesting Times

Could I hit you up for a bit of local knowledge? :) There’s a conference in Austin in June I’ll probably be attending in June. Anything special I should know about the area around the Austin Convention Center? I’m not sure yet where I’ll be staying; the Hilton across from the Center is already sold out :(

There are a lot of hotels close to the ACC. There is a Courtyard Marriott in walking distance, along with a Residence Inn, and an Omni nearby. There are others, but I can’t remember them offhand.

My personal recommendation would be The Driskill. It’s a bit pricy, but it’s a historical hotel here in Austin, and it’s really nice. It’s in walking distance of the convention center, it has a great bar, and they have decent food.
