Much more recently, the House GOP cut funding requests for fighting Ebola this past September.

I’ve seen this story going around, but note the update to that article:

UPDATE: The continuing resolution released Tuesday night ultimately included the full $88 million requested by the White House.

So they wanted to cut Ebola funding but reconsidered at the last minute, most likely because they realized it would hurt them politically at this time.
