That’s how we(assuming she was Irish since you said wake) do it. Sounds like a nice old lady. I am sure your wife will miss her deeply but the memories will last forever.

She conveniently was Irish, but around here (MA) we say ‘wake’ regardless. Funeral home visiting hours = Wake around these parts. Unfortunately, I had to wait until I got home to start drinking ;)
