I just quietly chuckled, most of the time. There was a whole stretch of “we really should just move to Texas.”

The only time I popped up was when they were talking about Amazon HQ2 and I had to point out that Amazon fucked everyone over. And even my dad chimed in that I was right “for once.”

I mostly just groaned inwardly and rolled my eyes. I love my folks, and let’s be clear, in some aspects they are incredibly loving and generous people - but when they get away from the personal aspect and into the aggregate, they are shockingly blind and … fuck, I’ll say it, STUPID.
