However, by this degrees-of-separation logic, Eliot Spitzer (aka ’ Client #9) co-hosting a nightly CNN hour = CNN endorsing adultery.

Not really. Spitzer hasn’t come out and endorsed adultery, or argued for it, he’s simply committed it. I don’t worry that he’s suddenly going to start telling CNN viewers to cheat on their wives with call girls.
