Dipshit on another board, who by this point might as well have “Stereotypical conservative” tattooed on his forehead. Cultural views that haven’t evolved since 1952, thinks liberals are the root of all of society’s problems, believes the reason that society’s falling apart is that people aren’t big enough assholes anymore, and so forth.

Been having a back and forth with him for hours now about gay marriage, the general theme of his “logic” being that homosexuality is a choice, one that he doesn’t accept, and thinks that there’s a dark agenda of all gays to force homosexuality on society as a whole. But at the same time, swears that his views have nothing to do with religion.

Oh, and he’s a Paulian to boot, which at this point shouldn’t shock me one bit.

One has to ask is society falling apart? How when we compare the society of today with those in our past does it match up? What decade should we pick. Are we better of as a society today compared to 1972, 1952, or 1912? What part of society is falling apart? Of course when people like him say “society is falling apart” they’re referring to the progression of social issues that have become the norm.

A Paulian in the form of what? A libertarian? A true libertarian shouldn’t give a thought about gays or gay marriage other than supporting their choice regardless of origin. They could believe in state regulation of marriage. But a true libertarian would have to support it. Much like Ayn Rand was a strong supporter of abortion rights. There is no dark agenda and it’s stupid to think as much. I imagine he spends a lot of time on the internet?
