Depends on how far (and how much) “they” (meaning any blog) is willing to push it. If it is “their” opinion but allow reasonable comments in oppostion, I think that ultimately they can and do sway people. But of they go off on a “everyone on the other side is evil” soapbox, thats what turns people away from being persuaded. At that point, “you’re” only talking to the choir

Well, said. Unfortunately in our polarized political culture there isn’t much tolerance for diversity of opinion.
