It wasn’t an open mike night, it was at a news conference in regards to the showing of his new film at Cannes. It wasn’t even an off the cuff moment.

It sounds like he’s having a bit of a break down. His mother should have kept her mouth shut and he would have happily gone on considering himself Jewish.
