Extinction in the short term is impossible to figure out but unlikely, but the reduction in population in absolutely catastrophic numbers is almost completely certain.

Ecosystem adaptation really depends a lot on the rate of change (not only on the total amount of change in temperature in a given period). The impact of .3 per decade is exponentially worse than .2 per decade in terms of adaptability. “Tipping points” are possibilities, but are contingent on a lot of uncertainties. The unknown, unknowns are certainly out there - and they must be figured into any policy analysis. I think that there are a lot of uncertainties involved in predicting global impact on a 200 year time frame. Predicting regional impact, while extremely difficult at a very specific llevel, is what is most certain. The relationship between regional impact and global is a pretty tough call, IMO.
