I used to live five hours from Denver by car. We considered a day trip to Denver normal. I once went with a friend expressly for the purpose of buying Haagen Dasz ice cream and bringing it back for our workmates. If I’d done that on the East Coast, people would have thought us nuts.

This was before H-D was more widely available, in the dim times, when dinosaurs roamed freely across the Front Range.

Good story, but how did you keep the ice cream frozen on a five-hour trip? You must have had a hella good cooler…..
