I don’t think we had a color TV until the ’70s. Not only was I not making a lot of money back then, I’m something of a cheapskate. Which probably saved us from total ruin a lot of times. : )

I was a lucky kid. Since my dad was in the TV fixin’ business, we had an RCA cabinet model in the 1960s, later a Magnavox or a Motorola, and then a Zenith, IIRC. Plus, my folks had a 19” in their bedroom, I had a 13” in mine, and we had another 13” in the kitchen. Being a dealer for the companies meant he got demo models.

Needless to say, we all watched a lot of TV.
