I’m not a bit surprised that he’s associated with a “mainstream” media outlet. The Today Show has had Ann Coulter on. This is why I refer to media as “mainslime”. They interview these Fascististas and frame them with the “some liberals say” trope. NPR can be the worst. I heard Robin Young on Here and Now refer to Joe Arpaio in Phoenix as “tough and colorful”.
